Fernandes: I feel at home at Man Utd

Bruno Fernandes has admitted he feels "at home" at Manchester United and is confident the club is capable of achieving "anything" possible in terms of success in the near future.

The United captain is having a stellar season with 16 assists in the Premier League so far, as the club close in on a spot in next season's Champions League.

With Fernandes' future a constant subject at Old Trafford, the United captain was asked if he feels at home in Manchester.

"When you are so long in a place you kind of feel part of it," Fernandes told Men In Blazers. "And obviously I'm very proud of my nation. And I love my country and I love to be there.

"But obviously I feel at home at Manchester. My kids feel at home here. So it's it's wonderful for me to be to be in a place where my, my kids can enjoy so much and, and feel so much at home as they do in Manchester."

And asked what United have to do to be considered truly 'back', Fernandes replied: "First of all, you have to understand the place you are, how much it means to be here, not just for everyone on the outside.

"When we see fans, whatever is around the world, we know how much it means for every player that has the chance and the opportunity to represent this club. And obviously I think to achieve it, this club will always be winning trophies and that's all every player wants to do when it comes to this club.

"You could be in the worst position as you want, but there is no player that comes to this club and never thinks about winning the Premier League, the Champions League, the Carabao Cup, anything that you could be involved.

"You are  going to always think that at this club you can you can achieve anything."

Toney raises serious questions of Saudi refereeing

Ivan Toney has joined his club Al Ahli in raising serious questions of the standard of refereeing during their Saudi Pro League clash with Al Fayha.

Al Ahli have called for the release of the communications between the on-field officials and VAR after having three penalty claims denied, amid a 1-1 draw in which Toney scored.

The England striker, who was open to a Premier League return in January, called the officiating "crazy" as a win would have put them within two points of the league leaders - Cristiano Ronaldo's Al Nassr.

On Instagram, Toney showed the three penalty claims in video and said: "Twoof these actions went to VAR and one didnt. Its actually crazy how you can miss things like this in crucial moments or choose to turn a blind eye."

Al Ahli said in a statement: "The Club Company expresses its deep dissatisfaction with the refereeing errors that affected today's match..."The referee's decisions had a direct impact on the flow of the game and its final outcome, which in turn affected the team's position in the title race.

"Such errors raise legitimate concerns regarding the referee selection process and the criteria applied, particularly given the high technical and competitive level of the Saudi Roshn League.

"The team has faced unfair refereeing decisions, an unacceptable situation that neither serves the development of the competition nor upholds the principle of competitive fairness, which must be the foundation of any successful tournament.

"Al-Ahli Club Company calls for access to the recordings and communications between the referees and the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), as well as their interactions with the team's players during the match.

"It also requests clear explanations for all refereeing incidents where decisions were not correctly made.

"In closing, Al Ahli Club Company reaffirms its confidence in the commitment of the relevant authorities to safeguard the integrity of the competition and taking the necessary practical steps that reflect the high standing the Saudi Roshn League has reached."
